We love a good horse list, and having a riding and equipment checklist is a great way to shave vital minutes off show day preparation. It can help you avoid potential disasters, and ensure you can fully concentrate on the dressage test or whatever task is in hand. It’s great when you don’t have to worry about whether you’ve packed the correct saddle pad or rug!

Winter is a great time to start organising, as you can make sure you have all the equipment you need before show season begins.

We’ve put together a rider and horse checklist that you can embellish for your own use. If you’ve got time on these dark winter days, you can create different versions for home, the stables and one for your groom/helper! Keeping a copy in your glove compartment or lorry cab is also a great idea – if it’s always kept there you don’t need to worry about packing it.
